Making DIY Camera Slider Cheap |
Many people ask about DIY slider for DLSR camera or Handycam that I created to make movement smoother videos and neat. If you search online, there are companies producing miniature dolls / slider to a smaller video camera or DSLR video, for example - GlideTrack, although very compact, easy to carry and setup, but the price is very expensive ..., So I decided to make a DIY Cam slider myself, before I had enough savings to buy a proper and expensive.
The idea came in one day when I wanted to make a documentary film, and requires a variety of shooting positions. The concept is simple, it is exactly how a track dolly works, but you just have to "miniature" it. Items that I use here is like: towel (got it from Ikea), some cheap skateboard bearings, small pieces of wood, crew and nuts .... etc.

You can directly place the camera on a camera slider that you have created, or together with the video head / tripod, either way will work. There you go, cheap and simple slider that helps you bring cinematography to a higher level and better.
